Silke Brösskamp occupies spaces. Her next project „Wir sind so weit gekommen“ (engl.„we have come this far“) at the artothek refers to the late Gothic style of the external wall of the building as well as to the distinctive 50s interior design inside. Details of the architecture are combined with materialized space.
Silke Brösskamp describes her approach: “Space is a special thing, it is a container, a playing area, a time storage. Its forces initiate my sculptural works. The working process: a virus, which occupies the space that I use as a stage. Material and metaphysical characters become supernumeraries, become props.”
